Each year the City of Selkirk Operations Department, along with the Solid Waste Collection Contractor conducts a Spring Clean-up, which is usually held in the first or second week of May. Spring Clean-up is advertised in the local newspaper and on the City of Selkirk website, as well as being advertised on the City sign located in the centre median on Main Street by Colcleugh Avenue.
All refuse not normally collected by the Solid Waste Collector, will be picked up, providing it is placed at curbside. Please ensure that tree branches are placed separate from other refuse.
Please place all Spring Clean-up refuse at curbside on your regular garbage pick-up day. Please Note: Any refuse or tree branches placed at curbside before or after the allotted Spring Clean-up will be picked up by the City of Selkirk but the homeowner will be charged for the pick-up.
DEMOLITION WASTE WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED STARTING WITH THE SPRING 2007 CLEAN-UP.
TREES AND BRANCHES MUST BE CUT INTO 3 FT LENGTHS AND BUNDLED WITH STRING. BUNDLES MUST NOT WEIGH MORE THAN 50 LBS.
